Nusrat Ritu is a PhD research fellow at Hasselt University, exploring the potential of preserving traces of collective memory through adaptive reuse of interiors via a comparative study between Flanders, Dhaka and Muscat. She completed her master’s in Interior Architecture focusing on Adaptive Reuse from Hasselt University in June 2022. Prior to this she graduated from the German University of Technology in Oman (Affiliated with RWTH Aachen University) with a BSc in Urban Planning and Architectural Design. As a Bangladeshi who was born and brought up in the Sultanate of Oman, her personal background plays a significant role in her research topic and trajectory.
