Nikolaas Vande Keere is a founding partner of UR architects in Antwerp and associate professor at the University of Hasselt. Between 2007 and 2013 he was visiting professor at TUDelft in the studio of Interiors-Buildings-Cities. Since 2014 he teaches Design Studio and currently coordinates the International Master on Adaptive Reuse at the Faculty of Architecture and Arts of UHasselt. In 2022 he held the PP Rubens Chair at UC Berkeley (US) in the College of Environmental Design. He is a member of the research unit Trace - Heritage and Adaptive Reuse, with an interest in research-by-design, theory and history in this field, with a focus on ecclesiastical architecture and contentious heritage.
